ABILITY'S RECIPE FOR AN EASY INSTALLATION:


NOTE: If you have installed the Medisoft Demo Version, please remove it before installing the FULL version.

Installing Medisoft Patient Accounting (Basic) or Medisoft ADVANCED Patient Accounting

  1. Close other applications before beginning installation
  2. Insert CD
  3. Select "Install Medisoft"
  4. Choose either the Second (Basic) or Third (Advanced) choice for your software
  5. Accept the agreement
  6. Hit "Next", "Next" "Next" etc until its done installing
  7. That's it.  Information for setting up your practice, provider, codes, patient info etc is included on your installation CD-ROM or can be downloaded here.   Also, helpful information for using the new NPI Field can be found here.

Installing the NETWORK Versions of Medisoft and Office Hours Professional

Note: Please read through the instructions listed below BEFORE attempting the installation.

INSTALLING THE ADVANTAGE DATABASE SERVER:
  1. Make a folder on your main (server) computer named MEDIDATA
  2. Share that folder so everyone can access it.  If you are using Windows Server 2000 or 2003, set the permissions of that folder to SYSTEM with full access.
  3. Be sure that the network connection for the server has a Static I/P address assigned to it.
  4. Next install the Advantage Database Server for NT from the Installation Disk
  5. Just use the default responses until you get to the serial number screen. Then enter the Serial # and Validation Key
  6. Make a note of your server's name as you will need this information when installing the program software.
  7. If you do not use the Internet at your office OR if you have a ROUTER for your Internet Access, then be sure to disable your firewall settings on your server and workstations.  Otherwise Medisoft will not be able to connect to the data.
INSTALLING MEDISOFT NETWORK PROFESSIONAL:
  1. From the Installation Disk, Choose the FIRST option "Install Medisoft Patient Accounting"
  2. Next, select the option for MEDISOFT NETWORK PROFESSIONAL (First four numbers of serial number 1818)
  3. Just keep hitting the <ENTER> key through the rest of the installation.
  4. After you finish installing the program, exit out of the installation.
  5. Hold down your <F7> key and double click on the Medisoft Network Program icon.  You should now see a message saying "Cannot connect to Data Path".  Now type in \\server\medidata    If your server is named something besides "server", then put that name in the data path instead.  Now Click on "OKAY"   You should now be connected to the server and able to run the program.  Be sure to register your program within 30 days so that it will run without interruption and PRINT YOUR REGISTRATION INFO
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 on each workstation.

INSTALLING OFFICE HOURS PROFESSIONAL NETWORK:
  1. From the Installation Disk, Choose the FIRST option "Install Office Hours Professional
  2. When it asks for the first four numbers of your serial number, enter 2828
  3. Just keep hitting the <ENTER> key through the rest of the installation.
  4. Hold down your <F7> key and double click on the Medisoft Network Program icon.  You should now see a message saying "Cannot connect to Data Path".  Now type in \\server\medidata    If your server is named something besides "server", then put that name in the data path instead.  Now Click on "OKAY"   You should now be connected to the server and able to run the program.  Be sure to register your program within 30 days so that it will run without interruption. 
  5. After it finishes installing, you have can open the program and use it.  Be sure to register it within 30 days so that it will run without interruption. 
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 on each workstation.

Check Medisoft's Main Website www.Medisoft.com to see if any new (Free) Service Packs are available for Version 14.

What are the minimum requirements for operating Medisoft Version 14?


Listed below are the minimum system requirements needed to run Medisoft.  Please note, if you barely meet the minimum requirements, your performance could be affected.  The program will run, but you may encounter lag. 

 

Version 14

Workstation System Requirements (Recommended): Pentium 4 2.6Ghz processor or higher, 1GB of available hard disk space, 512MB of RAM, 16+ color display, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional or Windows Vista Business edition.

Workstation System Requirements (Minimum):  Pentium III – 500+ MHz processor, 500MB available hard disk space, 256MB RAM, 256 color display, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows XP Professional or Windows Vista Business version

Server System Requirements (Recommended): Pentium 4 2.6Ghz processor or higher, 2GB of available hard disk space, 1GB of RAM, 16+ color display, Windows 2000 Server or Windows 2003 Server.

Notes:

* 256 color display minimum supported; may limit some features, 16 bit or higher recommended.
* We develop and test off of the most current release of the above mentioned operating systems.
* Recommendations are for the most current releases.
* Novell NetWare not supported with Medisoft Version 14
* XP Home or Vista Home not supported for Network Version
